Our Story

Why I created Maison

Maison exists because I've been exactly where you are. Dreaming about a life in the South of France. Wondering where to start. Questioning every decision. Falling in love with houses that weren't quite right. I know what that feels like because I lived it.

We just decided to go for it

There wasn't a grand plan. Just a feeling that life was too short to keep saying "one day." So I packed up my two-year-old, our three dogs, and headed to the South of France on my own to figure it out. It was exciting, overwhelming, exhausting... and completely worth it.

We didn't settle

Finding the right house wasn't the hard part. Finding the right place was. I visited more than 150 towns and villages and walked through 46 properties before everything finally clicked. I kept going until somewhere genuinely felt like home. Looking back, I realise I was learning something from every viewing, every wrong turn and every conversation.

I learnt the expensive way

There are so many things I wish I'd known before we started. The little details no one tells you. The places that look perfect online but don't feel right in person. The time, money and energy you can lose when you don't know what to look for. That's why Maison exists. Not to sell you a property. To help you search with confidence, avoid the mistakes I made, and find somewhere that truly fits the life you want.

And every morning reminds me why

I wake up to church bells. I wander to the bakery. I watch my son growing up in the kind of place we'd only ever dreamed about. It isn't just about finding a beautiful house. It's about finding a life that feels right. If I can help make that journey a little easier for someone else, then Maison is doing exactly what it was created to do.
